Ulster Uni Crowdfunding is our crowdfunding platform. Here we've collected some of the university's most exciting projects. Ulster Uni Crowdfunding allows friends of the university to support creative and innovative projects that particularly appeal to them.
Projects are created by our students and sometimes staff, for projects directly benefitting students. Ulster University’s Development and Alumni Relations Office reviews all projects for suitability, judging them on the quality of the presentation of the projects, their goals, and the level of organisation and commitment demonstrated by the teams behind them.
If you support a project, you will automatically receive updates about it. You can also interact directly with the team behind the project by leaving a comment on the project, or sending them a message.
What is Crowdfunding?
Ulster Uni Crowdfunding is a crowdfunding platform. Crowdfunding is sponsorship by a crowd of many donors, each making an individual, small donation in return for a small reward, like a t-shirt, project poster or a social media shout out. Hubbub provides a platform to showcase projects to a potentially huge audience, and gives sponsors an easy way to donate.
How Do I Create a Project?
We ask that you send us an application first, you can get this by emailing crowdfunding@ulster.ac.uk or looking in the 'Resources' section on the Create tab. Once we've approved your project simply login and enter a few key details: a description of what you want to do, a funding target and completion date, and some rewards for pledges. Images and videos can also bring your project to life! We offer full support with advice, tips, and feedback all along the way.
Are there any fees?
No! We cover the costs of payment processing fees so that you always get 100% of the value of your pledges.
All-or-Nothing Funding?
Every project must achieve its minimum needed by its completion date or no funds change hands. Why? Part of the appeal of crowdfunding is that sponsors get to engage with projects and see where their money is going. This keeps everyone happy!
