Greetings!
Hello, my name is Gabi Salomon and I am a MSc Sport Management student here at Ulster University-Jordanstown. Currently, I coach/volunteer for a local Special Olympics basketball club, the Carrick Chargers. The Carrick Chargers are a sports organisation for people with an intellectual disabilities and provide athletes with far more than the physical benefits of sport. Every 4 years, Special Olympics Ireland hosts their Ireland Games which is part of the advancement cycle to World Games. Ireland Games will be occurring in Dublin this upcoming June. I have committed to supporting the Ireland Games as a chaperone and mentor to two of the Chargers athletes. We have been tasked with fundraising £400 each for travel expenses to support us during this amazing event.
Where will the money go?
The money raised would support two athletes from the Chargers and myself with numerous aspects that correlate with traveling. Specific examples of expenses are, transportation to and from venues, meals during the duration, medals to reward the hard-working participants, insurance, uniforms etc.
