A short summary of your project
As part of the Suas Volunteer programme, I will be travelling to Zambia in June to teach English to primary school children for two months. In Zambia, we partner with a range of government schools, community-run schools, and church mission schools, who are all working to provide quality education to children in disadvantaged communities throughout the country.
Thanks so much for any donation - big or small.
Who am i?
I'm Scout Dobbin, a 21 year old Ulster University student studying Communication, Advertising and Marketing, who wants to do something to make a difference and give to people who need it the most.
But I need your help!!
A project like this is something that I have always wanted to be involved in but missed during secondary school, so now that this opportunity has arisen I don't want to miss it again!
I want to help young people by motivating them to see school as more than just a place to learn. In Zambia, over 90% of children enrol in primary school, but only three in five complete it and I'd love to help change this!
By raising the money, I will be actively helping to support the delivery of a quality education to the children of Suas's Partner schools. In 2018, Suas volunteers gave 11,500 hours of support to our partners, working with 2,000 children across 27 education centres based in disadvantaged communities in India and Zambia.
Through fundraising, I would be making a real difference to the lives of the children and teachers in Zambia. I'm so so grateful for any size of donation from £1 to £50. It's you making the difference.
Where will the money go?
- Flights £1000
- Accommodation, Health, Safety & Security £550
- Insurance £250
- Training £200
- Global Perspectives Week £200
- Coordinators & In-Country Support £800 (including staff time overseas, Coordinators costs etc)
- Contribution towards staff & running costs £500

Help me succeed!
Even if you don't give money, you can still help! It would really help me out of you could share this project with anyone you think would support me – on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, by email, telephone, in a chat over the fence or on your blog.
- In fact, share it with everyone you know as I think it's a great idea, and the more people who know about it, the more likely I am to make this work out brilliantly.
- And I know I just said you don't need to give money to help me, but I'd be the happiest it if you did! If you help even one person today, pick meeeeee!
